Bangkok

Hot, frenetic, traffic jams, spicy foods – these words summarize the immediate impression Bangkok leaves on its visitors. Indeed, Bangkok is all of these things, but the fact that this city continues to attract hordes to visit, live and work says something about the alluring charm of Bangkok. Located in the central part of Thailand on the north of the Gulf of Siam, Bangkok City is Thailand's largest urban city. The Chao Phraya River divides Bangkok city into two areas – Bangkok and Thon Buri. Bangkok is also the capital of Thailand, and is home to many foreigners.

Accommodation

Bangkok offers all the accommodation one would expect from a capital city from dormitory style hostels to the well known hotel chains and everything in between. Booking through a travel agent or online is the norm however by contacting the hotel directly you may be able to take advantage of certain promotional packages. If booking independently remember that, unless specified, hotel rates are subject to a 7% government tax and a 10% service charge. Having said that the Big Mango still offers amazing value compared to most capital cities
